Cosmetic consultation
Your smile is your most valuable asset and allows you to show off your personality many times a day. A beautiful and natural smile creates a lasting impression.
The first step in improving your smile is your cosmetic consultation. This is your opportunity to talk openly with your dentist about your desired cosmetic goals. You will be encouraged to describe your dream smile, discuss your motivation for changing your appearance and talk over any concerns you may have.
As experienced professionals we always offer objective advice to help you achieve your goals. We always aim for the simplest solution to achieve your cosmetic goals. Our recommendations may range from a simple hygiene appointment , smoothing and reshaping worn teeth, resin bonding, a teeth whitening procedure, the Invisalign® orthodontic system, or a cosmetic make over with crowns and/or veneers.
Every patient is an individual and there are many potential treatment plans for each case so we only offer custom designed solutions and we are very specific and realistic about what can be achieved.
It can be a very big decision to change or alter your appearance. Therefore it is vitally important that our clients have all the information they need to make an informed choice. This includes providing fully‐costed and itemised treatment plans, as well as sample before and after photographs to help demonstrate any proposed changes. Each cosmetic case goes through a diagnostic waxing stage where we use plaster models of your smile that our laboratory will use produce a wax template to show what we can achieve for your smile. This wax template can also be used to create a resin replica directly in your mouth so you can see exactly what can be achieved with your smile before any permanent treatment is considered.

Our teeth whitening procedure is popular because it is fast and effective. Each week we help many customers achieve a healthier and younger looking smile using our teeth whitening take‐home system.
It only takes two, 10‐minute sessions to get started. At the first appointment we take impressions of your teeth to create your custom made teeth whitening trays. At the second appointment we check to make sure the trays fit perfectly and show you exactly how to use our take‐home system. You can then use the kit at your convenience – day or night.
Our teeth whitening system is designed towards moderate cases which take around two weeks to achieve beautiful white teeth. To get the best results for a healthier whiter mouth you will need a consultation and hygiene appointment with Dr Christophers or Dr Bottomley.
Whitesmile Dental Care’s teeth whitening take‐home system enjoys a success rate of around 90%. This is a fantastic success rate, however as teeth whitening is unpredictable results cannot be guaranteed. It is our preferred method of teeth whitening as it produces excellent and long lasting results, and creates less teeth sensitivity.
However for those who require an immediate result, we also offer a powerful in‐chair, one‐hour Zoom teeth whitening service. This well known in‐studio procedure delivers instant results using a high strength hydrogen peroxide formula.
Crowns
If you have a damaged tooth from trauma, a large filling or root canal . A crown is an effective restorative treatment to strengthen and protect damaged teeth.
Types of crowns – Porcelain to Metal -This a a metal thimble with ceramic baked on top -these crowns have been used for decades, but are not particularly cosmetic in appearance.
Metal -Gold or Stainless steel. Full metal crowns were typically used in the past in high load areas. These crowns are not at all cosmetic but can withstand significant loads. They are rarely used these days due to the arrival of Zirconia crowns as an alternative.
Zirconia – Zirconia is an extremely strong ceramic material that is almost fracture proof. This material is often used in situations of very high load as a cosmetic alternative to metal crowns. Zirconia crowns are fabricated
Emax -Emax is an extremely cosmetic, yet extremely strong ceramic material. This material has a 10 year success rate of 98 % and is the most common material that we use to construct crowns at Whitesmile Dental Care. The material is used in combination with our Cerec machine and a crown is constructed using 3D technology and fired onsite in a special kiln to achieve lifelike cosmetics and strength in one visit.
Enamic – Enamic is a newer material that has the properties of a resin and a ceramic. It is often used in combination with implants and is also constructed using our CEREC system.
Bridges
If you are missing teeth and are not suitable for a dental implant or prefer another option at WhiteSmile Dental Care we can provide various types of dental bridges. A dental bridge is a replacement tooth joined to two dental crowns on the teeth on either side of the missing tooth . This will provide a cosmetic and functional tooth replacement. Dental bridges are not commonly used today as a dental implant is considered the standard of care as this procedure focuses only on replacing a missing tooth with no involvement of any other teeth.
A dental bridge can be constructed to simply be adhesively bonded to adjacent teeth, this is often a cost effective option and requires minimal adjustment of the supporting teeth. This is most often used for front teeth. The downside is that these bridges can occasionally debond if the loads applied are too great.
Porcelain Veneers
Want to restore the look of your teeth? Porcelain veneers are the answer to various tooth imperfections like discolouration,misalignment and chipped and cracked tooth structure. Veneers are able to correct these imperfections by covering the tooth with a thin tooth coloured porcelain covering that is bonded to the front of your teeth. Dental Implants
If you have lost one or more teeth, dental implants are considered the best treatment to replace a missing tooth. A dental implant replaces the root of your tooth with a titanium root and fixed to this is a replacement tooth. Dental implants can last for life provided they are well looked after.
White Fillings
At Whitesmile Dental Care we place exclusively white fillings designed to match your natural teeth as closely as possible. White fillings are much more conservative than the black metal fillings used in the past as strong adhesives are used to restore the strength of your tooth.
